 Jobs for March:

- Hard prune (coppice) Eucalyptus and Dogwoods which

  are grown for their winter stems

- Lift and divide large clumps of hosta, primula and hellebores

- Plant onion sets and shallots

- Last chance to prune roses!

- Plant lily bulbs and put the pots in the greenhouse

- Mow the lawn (when frost is not forecast) tidy and neaten

  the edges and apply a moss killer if necessary

- Sow tomatoes, peppers, aubergines in a heated propagator

- Remove old compost from the top of containers and replace

  with new compost  (about 5cm)

- Plan vegetable garden and order seeds
