The Ponds - before

The existing ponds were overgrown and had nowhere to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Ponds before construction

I was commissioned to design decking around existing ponds.

 

The brief was to give the area a 'natural feel' that could be used for relaxing and entertaining.

Lower Pond before construction

The different deck levels provide informal seating and the decks are large enough to be used for sunbathing and as a dining area.

The design incorporates the transition in levels from the end of a large sloping lawn to the immediate pond side.

The design uses curves to empathise with the surroundings and to lead the eye round.
