Once you have made the decisions and know how your garden design concept should look
I can finalise it for you if necessary. There is usually no further charge for this
provided there are only minor changes necessary to one on the original concepts.
Surveys and Concepts:
If you would like Growing Designs to provide you with some concepts of what we could
achieve I may need to do a survey of part or all of the garden. I will need accurate
details of it’s size, aspect, features and services, slopes, soil structure and type.
Growing Designs will also need to ask you about your likes and dislikes, what you
want to use your garden for (relaxing, entertaining, children etc.), what you like
about your garden and what you want to change and why. I will then be able to draw
up a Base Plan and a working brief that I will use to produce some concept ideas
to discuss with you. They will be yours to keep whether or not we progress further.
Working Plans can be drawn up (at an additional cost) if the design is particularly
Working Details will be required if there are elements within the design that require
detailed construction drawings.
There is no design ‘package’; the process is tailored to your requirements. You
might want your garden designed and built or just need a planting plan for a border.
The garden design services offered include surveys, concept ideas, scaled plans,
planting plans, working plans, plant maintenance schedules and project management.
You can use the final Concept to implement the plan. You are free to build your new
garden yourself or I can help you find a Landscaper.
Other documents can be provided if required such as:
Overseeing the Project:
You are free to use the plans and manage the project yourself or Growing Designs
can manage the
project for you.
I can find a Landscape Contractor, check quality of work and progress
and problem solve etc.
Some projects go smoothly
and some don't!
Once the project is complete
I can draw up Maintenance
Schedules for you to manage
and maintain the plants and
hard landscape materials so
that you can continue to enjoy
your 'new garden'!
tailored to your needs!
The Design Process:
I come and visit you, look at your garden and discuss what changes you would like
to make. We will talk through the whole process so that you decide which way you
want to proceed.
Services I offer include Garden Design advice, garden survey, Concept Plans, Planting
Plans, Working Details, Specifications and Maintenance Schedules.
Growing Designs can also oversee the project if full implementation of
the garden design is undertaken.
My drawings are drawn by hand or on a computer and are coloured where appropriate,
your garden is tailored to your needs and
is a one-off.
You can pick and choose the services you want to use. This helps you if you are
on a limited budget, already have good gardening knowledge or it helps where size
or time prohibits large projects from being completed all at once. It also enables
you to take one step at a time if you are unsure about what you
want or need.
No two gardens are the same; this makes my life interesting and enjoyable
as well as making
your garden unique!
