Modern House in Melton

A patio was laid using Indian sandstone and

a path leads from it, around a lawn, to the shady area and the back gate.

This is a small back garden of a modern house in Melton.

The garden only measures approximately six metres by six metres including a brick shed!  The garden is entered from the sun room and has a rear access.

The client wanted a quiet place to relax at the end of the day.  Somewhere to eat, enjoy a drink or read a book to the soothing sound of running water.  The garden enjoys the sun most of the day but a shady spot is required in case it gets too hot.

The path leads to a raised circular area of granite setts where there is room for a seat. The area is closely planted, has a crab apple tree (which will provide shade) and aromatic plants in the centre. The front of the step is wood and this is repeated as a feature in the lawn. Fragrant plants have been used near the back door and will be brushed against  as the washing is attended to.
