Back Garden - before ....

A curving path leads from the pergola near the back door to a new paved area in front of the shed where there is plenty of room for the small greenhouse, and a work space for all those outdoor jobs.

Some of the existing plants have been moved or incorporated in the newly planted borders and a heavy mulch has been applied to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Originally there was tired looking paving across the back of the bungalow, a lawn in the middle of the garden, narrow beds all round and a shed in a corner of the garden.

It was time for the garden

to be updated!

A pergola with trellis provides a sheltered area which catches the evening sun.

The Plan

The lower paved area extends with a sweeping curve towards the back door.

The Clients wanted an area for their patio table and chairs, a sheltered place to sit in the evenings, something to screen the next door neighbours new garage and steps outside the patio doors and the back door.

The garden had to incorporate a lawn and the borders were to be lower maintenance with all year round interest.  An area for the small greenhouse was also required.

Before ......

The step out from the patio doors has been combined with an area for the patio table and chairs.  This rotunda is partly bounded by trellis which will help to screen the new garage next door.
