New Bungalow - before ....

The Clients instructed builders to start building a brand new bungalow - designs had been approved for a modern and stylish building with the lounge looking onto the back garden through large sliding glass doors.   

The dining room and kitchen look onto an area enclosed by curved rendered walls and a moongate; this area is paved with snakeskin limestone.

Italian cypresses and horizontal junipers are added on the left hand side of the lawn.  They help disguise the line of the fence behind and, in time, will add height and drama to the boundary.

The bungalow is finished to a very high standard and has a contemporary style.  A modern yet simple garden design is required incorporating a lawn, a patio, a summerhouse and simple planting  with a contemporary feel.  The Clients are often out of the country and need a low maintenance solution for the design.  The design was inspired by connections and reminders of their foreign visits

The back garden faces south and, because of the glass along the back of the building, the bungalow is flooded with light.  

Before building started ......

The front garden, hidden from the road, is a sun trap so rendered blockwork seats have been added.  Trellis and black bamboos enclose the area which adds height and movement.
